Reaching out to change the world One volunteer at a time

Volunteer

Would you like to join our mission?!? Global Health Reach (GHR) is a volunteer organization, and we are always looking for great people with hearts to serve to join our teams. Joining a medical mission trip is a truly unique experience, and it is one of the most rewarding ways to give back to those in need of medical assistance. We accept applications from throughout the world and from various educational and professional backgrounds. Everyone can be involved! The following sections outline some of the frequent volunteer positions available within the organization. Or, you can skip directly to our application page and start the process today.

Healthcare Professionals

Healthcare professionals are needed on every trip.  They are a vital piece of the GHR effort, and as a medically trained professional, you will directly help by delivering aide to remote populations that are removed from even fundamental levels of medical services. GHR teams consist of a variety of medical professionals, including Doctors, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners,  Paramedics, Dentists, Pharmacists, and more. If you work in a medical-related profession, we need you!

Students

Part of the GHR mission is to advance and encourage education, and this does not just apply to the populations we serve–it means our volunteers too! GHR trips are an incredible opportunity to shadow and assist medical professionals, and you will see a wide variety of conditions that are not prevalent within the United States. If you are currently enrolled in a pre-health program or already in graduate school, we would love to have you join us in the field. Each trip reserves space for students, so that the next generation of professionals can engage in this worthy and necessary mission. GHR trips will prepare you for the career ahead and will take you much further than a textbook ever could.

Non-Medical Volunteers

There are a tremendous number of volunteer positions that do not require any medical experience or qualifications, and a typical team consists of about 25% non-medical personnel. Here are just a few of the many roles a non-medical volunteer may fill:

  • Community education and outreach
  • Logistical support (transportation, security, clinic organization)
  • Clinic Intake & Registration
  • Pharmacy support (organization, inventory)
  • Project management (read about our Team Leader program)
  • Administrative support
  • Photography/Journalism

We heavily rely on our non-medical volunteers to bring our teams together and make the mission a success. These functions are critical and are the reason our teams work as a cohesive unit. If you have a unique skill set, please contact GHR and we will find a way to put it to use!
